From 5 to 7 February, Vienna’s trade fair centre Messe Wien will be the venue of the fourth issue of the “ITnT”. The trade fair for information technology and telecommunication (ICT) is the single most important b2b platform for Austria’s ICT industry in Austria as well as for the Central, Southern and South-Eastern European region (CEE/SEE).
In advance of the ITnT 2008, a few trends and innovations in the ICT industry begin to emerge. A major significant topic in the ICT industry is “Green IT” and the question how the industry can contribute to protecting the climate. Applying energy efficiency to protect the climate saves companies more costs. Modern IT systems that do both, save energy and be cost-efficient are one of the trends of the next few years and are also one of the main focuses of exhibitors at the ITnT 2008.
Also, the telecommunications topic at the fair has grown when compared with last year: an increase of 30 per cent in exhibitors allows guesses as to the fact that telecommunications – both landline and mobile telephony – still is a huge attraction of the ICT industry. The newest phones can be seen at the event and also the latest technologies like, for instance, DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting – handheld) will be presented – the latter will be an important topic in 2008 at the UEFA EURO 2008 TM that takes place in Austria and Switzerland.
